RE: Canadian Queer Studies group - what do you think? where do we star
Jul 14 2008, 4:13 PM EDT I definitely think we should start a Canadian Queer Studies group that creates a space for dialogue and presentations at CSSE. We should also connect with other queer spaces through women and gender studies, curriculum studies, and other institutes/special interest groups I'm unaware of. Peace, L Do you find this valuable? |

RE: Canadian Queer Studies group - what do you think? where do we star
Jul 19 2008, 10:15 AM EDT I also think it is a great idea to have a Canadian Queer SIG Group. The Canadian Congress is an excellent space and a queer sig would fit very nicely into CSSE. This would allow for greater cross-border dialogue and I’m sure would benefit both SIGs. I look forward to hearing what others have to say about this wonderful and much needed space and welcome anyone else interested to contact me should you wish to discuss this further! RE: Canadian Queer Studies group - what do you think? where do we star
Jul 21 2008, 3:31 PM EDT Hi All - After discussions at UBC, the new Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services, Faculty of Education, University of Alberta will take the lead in contacting the CSSE executive to discuss a queer educational pre/post conference for Congress 2009! More details to come soon. Please continue to share thoughts, ideas, etc. For example, who would be a good opening speaker? What about a queer outing in Ottawa? Presentation from a local queer community group/youth/educators? Do you find this valuable? |
